The card at the end is not the same card that was signed, you can take screenshots. The sloppy routine is designed to mask his scribbling over the signature making it unrecognizable by a human. So it really didnt matter which card Penn chose in the end tgey were all scribbled kings (except for maybe the few fifth cards that he has shown - five being an easy force when starting to count early with fingers). A lot of freedom is allowed and masked by sloppy routine design. A few slights of hands, deck switch, nothing Penn and Teller wouldnt know. If they were fooled (which is questionable) they did not naybe consider that it was a different card, but they didnt reeally try they were impressed by the original performance and had respect for his champ title, so they just wanted to give him tge trophy. Not like that othet frenchmen that really fooled them years ago with his maths based cards spelling number in combination trick which is really ingenious. This was fun but one of the easier tricks to deconstruct if you can make screenshots.
